What makes a 1972 Corvette a 1972
1972 is the last year for several things C3 owners care about: the removable rear window on the coupe, the front and rear chrome bumpers together, and the fibre-optic light monitoring system. It is also the first year horsepower was quoted in net figures only, which is why a 1972 looks so much weaker on paper than a mechanically similar 1971. The LT-1 was in its final season. For a lot of enthusiasts the 1972 is the sweet spot of the generation, full chrome with the later refinements.

Chris N's 1972 Corvette
This is my 1972 Stingray with 350 base and 4 speed close ratio transmission. It has 97000 original miles. Color is Mille Miglia red paint (repainted in 1990) with deluxe leather interior package. Other options include air, power windows, tilt/tele, ps, pb, this one is loaded. I put a new CD/mp3 player in it this spring.

Victor's 1972 Corvette
I purchased this '72 Corvette in 2004 in Chicago Illinois It had a couple of previous owners and I have copies of the titles. What is amazing is that all the original equipment was never thrown out, such as the 61 Amp Alternator, master cylinder, the fingered fan blade, and all the original smog equipment. I even have all the original high and low beam T3 headlights. The radio is the AM/FM Stereo with amplifier. I have rebuilt the original Carter Carburetor - 7042217. If I had the time, perhaps one day I can have this 1972 Corvette 454 four speed back to 98% just as it was when it left the factory with the exception of the exhaust system and tires.

Willy's 1972 Corvette
A little about the car...It has a 383 GM stroker crate engine and a 5 speed TREMEC trans, 3:36 posi rear end with HD stub axles and U joints, composite suspension front with dual mount which allows for easy adjustment to ride height and stiffness, tubular 'A' arms, offset trailing arms to allow for wider wheels and tires on the rear as well as a composite spring with dual mount to allow easy adjustment for stiffness and ride height, Bilstein shocks, Michelin Pilot Sport tires on 17x8 front wheels and 17x9.5 rear wheels, and SS brake callipers and lines.

Barry's 1972 Corvette
I recently acquired this beauty, once owned by Larry Robinson. The Corvette was a signing bonus when he joined the Montreal Canadians, who went on to win the Stanley Cup that year (1972). It now has a reworked Zeke's 350/400 HP Turbo 400, and is painted white instead of the original blue.

My 1972 coupe. High performance 355 ci. TH 400 transmission. Have owned this car for 10 years and it has placed in many car shows. I have done all the work myself and I never get tired of driving it. I have enjoyed your website, lots of good stuff for us Vette guys, thanks.

Bill's 1972 Corvette
This is my '72 454 4spd with 50,269 miles. Options include AC, PS, PB, Tilt/Tele and leather interior. I am the second owner. I have the Tank Sticker (what's left of it), POP, Window Sticker, etc.
