Model year 1970
1970 Corvette Colors and Paint Codes
Eleven exterior colours were offered for 1970. It was a short model year, cut to roughly six months of production, so every 1970 colour is scarcer than the same shade on a neighbouring year. Below is the full list, the interior combinations, and where to find the code.
1970 exterior colors and paint codes
| Code | Colour |
|---|---|
| 972 | Classic White |
| 974 | Monza Red |
| 975 | Marlboro Maroon |
| 976 | Mulsanne Blue |
| 979 | Bridgehampton Blue |
| 982 | Donnybrooke Green |
| 984 | Daytona Yellow |
| 986 | Cortez Silver |
| 991 | Ontario Orange |
| 992 | Laguna Gray |
| 993 | Corvette Bronze |
Swatches are on-screen approximations to tell the colours apart, not paint matches. Take the code to a paint supplier for an accurate mix.
Where to find your paint code
The paint code is on the trim tag, a small metal plate riveted to the driver's side of the body just inside the door opening. Open the door and look at the hinge pillar area. The tag carries the body style, the body number, the trim (interior) code and the paint code together, so it tells you the original exterior and interior in one go. A repainted car keeps its original tag, which is exactly why the tag is worth more than the paint you can see.

- Chevrolet did not record how many 1970 Corvettes were built in each colour, so no reference can give you that split for this year. The codes and the combinations below are documented; the quantities simply do not exist.
- Exterior and interior trim combinations were those recommended while other combinations by special order were available. Convertible top colors were Black, White or Beige.
What to know about 1970 colours
Because 1970 production ran only from January to July, the whole year totals just over seventeen thousand cars, the lowest of the C3 run. Any 1970 colour is therefore rare in absolute terms even where it was a popular choice at the time.
The full colour list for every model year from 1968 to 1982 is on the C3 colour code page, and the interior trim codes are set out on the interior trim page. For the rest of what Chevrolet documented about this year, including production by month, the option list and the engine codes, see the 1970 specifications page.
