1972 Corvette Interior Colors and Trim Codes
Four interior colours were offered for 1972, the fewest of the whole C3 run. Below is every trim code, the exterior colours each was suggested with, and how to read the code on your trim tag.

How to read your trim code
Through this part of the run the trim code is a plain three-digit number with no letter in it, and the number alone tells you both the colour and the material. Read it off the trim tag, the small plate riveted to the driver's side of the body just inside the door opening, where it sits next to the paint code. Match the number against the table above: the same colour usually carries one number in vinyl and a different one in leather, so the code distinguishes a leather car from a vinyl one even when the seats have long since been recovered.

- Exterior and interior trim combinations were those recommended while other combinations by special order were available. Convertible top colors were Black or White.
Seats and trim in 1972
1972 offers the narrowest interior palette of the generation, so a 1972 in an unusual trim colour is worth checking carefully against the tag. RPO ZP2, a colour and trim override, was applied to 654 cars, which is how a genuine factory car can carry a combination the chart below does not show.
